More about Echo

Automating Large-Area Turf and Driving Range Work

ECHO Robotics is built around jobs that traditionally take a significant amount of staff time: mowing large grass areas and collecting balls from driving ranges. Rather than treating the robots as standalone machines, the right setup starts with the site, the area that needs covering and how the robot will fit around day-to-day operations.

ECHO Robotic Mowers

GroundTech supplies ECHO robotic mowers for professional turf maintenance, with models suited to sports grounds, golf courses, schools, estates and other large managed spaces. The range includes established boundary-based machines alongside newer GPS-RTK models that can mow defined areas without relying on a perimeter wire.

For larger or more complex sites, GPS-RTK models such as the TM-850S, TM-1050 and TM-2050 use systematic navigation rather than simply moving randomly around the mowing area. This makes it possible to manage large zones more efficiently while maintaining a consistent mowing pattern.

ECHO Robotic Golf Ball Pickers

For driving ranges, ECHO robotic ball pickers automate one of the most repetitive jobs on the site. The RP range travels around the range collecting balls while play continues, reducing the need to send staff or a conventional ball-collecting vehicle across the outfield.

The RP-1250 uses GPS-RTK navigation and can collect up to 15,000 balls in 24 hours across a working area of up to 45,000m². It can also form part of a wider automated range setup where collected balls are transferred into a drop system for washing, transport and eventual return to the dispenser.

Choosing the Right ECHO Robotics System

Robot specification should be based on more than the maximum area figure. Mowing zones, slopes, obstacles, operating hours, charging position and the standard of finish required all matter when choosing an ECHO mower. For ball collection, range size, ball volumes and how the collected balls will be returned to the washing or dispensing system also need to be considered.

Robotics Support from GroundTech

GroundTech works with commercial robotic mowing and driving range automation across the UK. We can help assess the site, specify the appropriate ECHO equipment and support the system through installation, setup and ongoing servicing.
