With its Drop & Go setup, automatic 3D mapping and intelligent route planning, it takes much of the work out of keeping your garden tidy.
Forget tangled cables and complicated installations. The X4 uses 360° 3D LiDAR and automatic lawn mapping, so there’s no boundary wire to bury or separate RTK antenna to position around your garden.
Connect the mower through the Sunseeker app and let it build a detailed 3D map of your lawn. From there, you can set virtual boundaries, create no-go areas and customise mowing schedules to suit your garden.
The X4 also supports unlimited mowing zones, making it a useful choice for homes with separate lawn areas or more complicated layouts.
The X4 doesn’t rely on satellite positioning to find its way around your garden. Instead, it combines 360° 3D LiDAR with Vision AI to build a detailed picture of its surroundings and navigate accurately.
Its LiDAR system captures over 210,000 points per second, with a 360° horizontal and 70° vertical field of view. This helps the mower understand the shape of your garden, identify obstacles and plan efficient routes.
There’s also a powerful 10 TOPS AI processor to help the mower respond quickly to changing surroundings. Whether it’s working around garden furniture, flowerpots or other everyday obstacles, the X4 can adjust its route without simply bumping into everything in its path.
Unlike systems that depend on a strong satellite signal, LiDAR navigation also works in areas where GPS reception can be difficult, such as beneath trees or close to buildings.
The X4 uses a combination of 3D LiDAR, a Vision AI camera and a protective bumper to recognise obstacles and navigate around them.
Its 360° sensing system helps identify objects in different positions around the mower, including low-profile and raised obstacles. The combination of LiDAR and visual sensing also supports navigation in bright sunlight and low-light conditions.
With supported night mode and an LED headlight, the X4 can operate after dark. However, daytime mowing is recommended in gardens visited by hedgehogs and other nocturnal wildlife.
The X4 is designed to mow systematically rather than wander randomly around your lawn. Its intelligent path planning calculates efficient cutting routes, helping reduce repeated passes and missed areas.
A 20 cm floating cutting disc with six blades follows changes in ground level for a consistent finish. You can also manually adjust the cutting height between 20 and 60 mm to suit your preferred grass length.

Not every garden is perfectly flat. The X4 uses rear-wheel drive and rear suspension to tackle slopes up to 45% (24°), giving it the traction needed for moderately steep gardens and uneven ground.
Its off-road wheels help maintain grip, while the suspension system makes it easier to navigate bumps and changes in terrain. The mower is also designed to clear suitable obstacles up to 4 cm high.
The floating cutting system follows the contours of your lawn, helping maintain an even cut without constantly digging into changes in ground level.
Once the X4 has mapped your garden, managing it is straightforward. Use the Sunseeker app to set mowing schedules, adjust zones, create no-go areas and check your mower’s progress.
It also supports Alexa and Google Assistant for compatible voice commands, while over-the-air software updates help keep the mower up to date.
When the battery runs low, the X4 automatically returns to its charging station. Once charged, it can resume mowing from where it left off, helping it complete larger mowing jobs without constant attention.
Automatic rain detection allows the mower to respond to changing weather conditions, while its IPX6 water-resistant design provides protection against rain and water exposure during cleaning, when following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Running at just 60 dB(A), the X4 is also much quieter than a conventional petrol mower.
The Sunseeker X4 includes a 4G and GPS anti-theft module as standard, giving you additional protection without purchasing a separate upgrade.
Its connected security features include location tracking and lift alerts, helping you keep an eye on the mower when you’re away from home.
Two years of 4G service are included with the X4. After this period, a paid renewal is required to continue using the connected service.
The Sunseeker X4 offers a different approach to wire-free mowing. Instead of relying on an RTK antenna or network positioning, its 3D LiDAR system maps and navigates your garden directly.

With no perimeter wire to bury and no external antenna to install, getting started is straightforward, even if you’ve never owned a robotic mower before.
If your garden is smaller and fairly straightforward, the Sunseeker X3 Gen 2 is worth considering. It handles lawns up to 800 m², with AONavi 2.0 wire-free navigation, Vision AI and a compact design.
For larger or steeper gardens, the Sunseeker X5 Gen 2 covers up to 2,000 m², with all-wheel drive and a 60% slope capability.
The Sunseeker X7 and X7 Plus Gen 2 are designed for even larger properties, with dual cutting discs, advanced obstacle detection and coverage up to 6,000 m².
