Woolston Manor Golf Course is located in Chigwell, Essex and home to 18 hole Championship Golf Course of 6,496 yards, approached GroundTech to discuss the possibility of using robotic mowers on the fairways to help and support the current greenkeeping team.
To help and support the current greenkeeping team with increasing workload on the course while maintaining the quality and consistency of the fairways throughout the course.
GroundTech worked alongside Darren the Course Manager for Woolston Manor to review the mapping and the power locations of the course, we established that 3x TM2050 low cut Echo robots would manage the 18 holes of fairways. One of the key drivers for the machines was the wet conditions in the winter months and the course still growing at a considerable rate. The key to the planning was utilising the pathways for routing and maximising the capability of the machines travelling long distances due to power locations around the course.
Three TM2050 Fairway low cut machines now manage all fairways across Woolston Manor’s 18-hole course. Their integration has significantly reduced the time the greenkeeping team spends on routine mowing as currently the echo machines are cutting the fairway’s anywhere between 3 and 4 times per week. As a result, Woolston Manor Golf Course continues to uphold its high fairway standards while improving efficiency and reducing physical workload for the team.
GroundTech’s tailored approach and support enabled Woolston Manor’s Golf Course to implement robotic mowing confidently and effectively. The TM2050 machines are now a key part of their maintenance strategy, helping the club stay ahead in course presentation and greenkeeping innovation.
