More about Range Servant

Automating the Journey from Picker to Dispenser

Picking golf balls is only the first part of running a busy driving range. Once the balls come off the outfield they still need to be collected, moved, cleaned and returned to the dispenser. Range Servant ball management systems are designed to automate more of that process and reduce the amount of repetitive handling required from staff.

Range Servant Golf Ball Ditch Systems

The Range Servant Ditch System provides a collection point for balls arriving from robotic or conventional pickers. From there, the system can transport balls onwards to the next stage of the range operation rather than relying on staff to repeatedly empty pickers and move large quantities of balls by hand.

GroundTech can supply modular configurations ranging from relatively simple ditch and collection setups through to more automated systems incorporating washing, elevators, hoppers and dispensing equipment. This allows the installation to be built around the way your existing driving range operates rather than forcing every site into the same layout.

Designed to Work with Robotic Ball Pickers

Range Servant systems work particularly well alongside autonomous golf ball collection. A robotic picker can collect continuously from the range and return balls to the ditch system, allowing collection and ball handling to operate as part of one automated process.

The system is not restricted to one robot manufacturer, however. GroundTech’s Range Servant setup can also be configured for conventional manual ball pickers, making it possible to improve the handling side of the range before moving to fully autonomous collection.

Ball Washing and Return

Depending on the configuration, collected balls can pass through washing equipment before being lifted and transferred towards storage or dispensing. This reduces the number of separate handling stages between a ball being collected on the outfield and becoming available to the next golfer.

Built Around Your Driving Range

There is no single correct ball management setup for every range. Daily ball volumes, outfield layout, picker type, available space and the position of existing washers and dispensers all affect the system required. Range Servant’s modular approach allows individual components to be combined around those requirements.

GroundTech can help plan the complete process from ball collection through to washing and dispensing. For higher-volume sites, Range Servant systems can be configured to process up to 24,000 balls per hour, helping keep ball inventory moving during busy periods without creating another manual bottleneck behind the scenes.
