Bawburgh Golf Course, located in Norfolk and home to both 18 and 9-hole courses, approached GroundTech following a recommendation from their agronomist. With increased pressure on their greenkeeping team and a need to maintain the high standards of their fairways, the club was keen to explore the integration of robotic mowing technology as a support solution.
To reduce manual mowing workload on the greenkeeping team while maintaining the quality and consistency of the fairways throughout the course.
GroundTech collaborated closely with Operations Director Jamie Goose and his team to assess the course layout, identify optimal docking station locations, and develop efficient mowing patterns to maximise coverage and machine performance. Following a quotation, a two-week on-site trial was carried out to demonstrate the mower’s capabilities in real-world conditions. During this period, the greenkeeping team received hands-on training, enabling them to adapt mowing zones, adjust fairway shapes, and map rough areas to extend coverage effectively.
Two TM2050 robotic mowers now manage all fairways and rough areas from tree line to tree line across Bawburgh’s 9-hole course. Their integration has significantly reduced the time the greenkeeping team spends on routine mowing, allowing greater focus on detailed maintenance and overall course presentation. The machines have become a seamless part of daily operations, offering the flexibility to adjust mowing zones as the course layout evolves. As a result, Bawburgh Golf Course continues to uphold its high fairway standards while improving efficiency and reducing physical workload for the team.
GroundTech’s tailored approach and support enabled Bawburgh Golf Course to implement robotic mowing confidently and effectively. The TM2050 machines are now a key part of their maintenance strategy, helping the club stay ahead in course presentation and greenkeeping innovation.
