Initial consultation
All Saints Resort is located in the tranquil countryside of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and home to 18 hole Golf Course, approached GroundTech to discuss the possibility of using robotic mowers to assist with mowing where the heavier machinery cannot travel.
Understanding the requirements
All Saints Resort Golf Course sites on a flood plain so early season cutting when the grounds are wet the heavier machinery cannot travel therefore the grass and arisings take several months to get under control. The rising costs with external contractors was also another reason that All Saints Resort meant exploring robotics.
Implementation of Robotic Mowers
GroundTech collaborated closely with Steve to work out a solution and discovered that 5x TM2050 fairway low cut machines would be able to cut the rough, fairways and practise areas. GroundTech conducted a two week demonstration which showcased the work the TM2050 low cut could offer the course. The team on site could see the benefits straight away and the benefit the machines could have in other areas.
Conclusion
Currently Five Echo Machines are cutting the rough, fairways and practice ground at All Saints Resort. The integration of these five machines has significantly reduced the workload of the greenkeeping team as they cut anywhere between 3 and 4 times per week. As a result, the team are now able to concentrate on improving other areas of the course, all while saving costs on fuel, servicing and maintenance.

Our fleet of five TM2050 are now cutting all our fairways and the majority of the rough, freeing the team to spend more time to concentrate on improving other areas of the course. Theres also the added bonus of significant savings on fuel, servicing and maintenance costs” - Steve Hall, PGA Golf Pro – All Saints Resort
