KR160E.A

Instructed by the Kress RTKn network, it navigates your lawn with centimeter-level accuracy. No need for boundary wire nor fixed reference antenna to be installed in the lawn. The dead reckoning algorithm ensures accuracy where lines of sight to the satellites are blocked by trees and buildings. Operated by the MAP (Mowing Action Plan™) technology, it efficiently manicures lawns up to 600 ㎡.

  • Satellite-guided — no perimeter wire installation
  • Centimeter-level accuracy without the need for a fixed antenna on the lawn
  • Systematic coverage in parallel lines for maximum mowing efficiency
  • Satellite-precise multi-zone management
  • Patented obstacle avoidance system
  • Follows the shortest possible route to and from the charging station
  • Auto-levelling blade system adapts to terrain unevenness

Product Description

The Kress KR160E.A Mission RTKn 600 + OAS is a compact robotic mower designed for smaller lawns up to 600m². It runs without boundary wire, using satellite-based RTKn navigation and onboard obstacle detection to cut with accuracy and avoid collisions.

About the Kress KR160E.A Mission RTKn 600 + OAS

This model uses RTKn (Real-Time Kinematic network) positioning to stay within a mapped mowing zone, so there’s no need to install perimeter wire. It cuts in a defined pattern, not randomly, which leads to better coverage over time. The built-in Obstacle Avoidance System (OAS) uses sensors to detect and steer around objects without stopping or needing manual resets.

It’s ideal for smaller gardens with trees, planters, or furniture that might interrupt typical mowers. The dual-blade system gives a clean finish, and the brushless motor keeps noise low. It docks and charges automatically, and all controls are handled through the Kress app.

Specific Uses for the KR160E.A

  • Small residential lawns up to 600m²
  • Gardens with permanent fixtures or furniture
  • Users who want wire-free setup and app control
  • Zones where regular mowing is needed but access is tight
  • Low-noise mowing at any time of day

FAQs

  • Q: Does it need a boundary wire?
A: No. It uses RTKn mapping, so setup is done digitally with no physical wire.
  • Q: What is OAS?
A: The Obstacle Avoidance System detects objects and redirects the mower in real time to avoid collisions.
  • Q: Can I set different mowing zones?
A: Yes. Zones and schedules can be managed in the Kress app.
  • Q: Will it mow around trees or garden beds?
A: Yes. OAS helps it navigate around fixed objects smoothly.
  • Q: What happens when the battery is low?
A: It automatically returns to the dock and resumes mowing when ready.

Accessories You’ll Need for the KR160E.A

The KR160E.A is ideal for small gardens with tight spaces, trees, or obstacles. It’s ready to work out of the box, but a few optional accessories can improve reliability and simplify day-to-day use — especially in complex garden layouts.

RTKn Correction Signal or Mini Base Station

The mower relies on satellite correction for accurate movement. If your garden has poor signal coverage (due to buildings or trees), a small RTKn base station may be needed for stable operation.

Charging Dock Cover or Shelter

A compact garage or shelter protects the dock from rain and sun, helping maintain clean contact points and reducing long-term wear, especially in uncovered outdoor areas.

Sensor Cleaning Kit and Spare Blades

Because the mower uses obstacle detection, keeping sensors clean is important. A gentle cleaning cloth and blade kit help maintain both safety and mowing quality.

Setup Flags for Zone Mapping

When mapping out the mowing zone in the Kress app, temporary markers or flags help guide the mower’s boundaries — useful if you have features like trees, patios, or curved beds.

GroundTech can install your KR160E.A for you — including RTK signal setup, charger placement, and obstacle avoidance calibration. Email [email protected] or use the form below to get started.

Operating autonomously for up to 24 hours a day, allowing each task to be completed at a time that best suits you and your schedule and alleviating the pressure on manual labour.

All Weather

The light footprint of the robot allows it to work on even the softest ground, retaining the playability and presentation of your facility no matter the challenges posed by mother nature.

Precision

Engineered to not only save on fuel and staff hours, GroundTech’s robotic solutions deliver a precise cut and quality finish worthy of first-class sport or picture-postcard experiences.

Quiet

The hood and main body of the robot is insulated to deliver efficiency and effectiveness with minimal noise – ideal for working at night or in built up areas with no disruption.

Sustainable

The robot consumes up to 90% less energy than a standard mower. In addition, the clippings returned to the surface can also reduce the requirement for fertiliser and other chemical applications.

Quality

Mowing more frequently and consistently will being multiple benefits to the turf surface. A ‘little and often’ approach improves presentation,  increases sward density & prevents weed ingress.
