KR172E.A
Instructed by the Kress RTKn network, it navigates your lawn with centimeter-level accuracy. No need for boundary wire nor fixed reference antenna to be installed in the lawn. The dead reckoning algorithm ensures accuracy where lines of sight to the satellites are blocked by trees and buildings. Operated by the MAP (Mowing Action Plan™) technology, it efficiently manicures lawns up to 3000 ㎡ large (2000 ㎡ recommended).
The Kress KR172E.A Mission RTKn 3000 + OAS is a wire-free robotic mower built for lawns up to 3,000m². It uses satellite navigation for precision and includes an Obstacle Avoidance System (OAS) to detect and avoid objects in real time. It’s a strong option for gardens with trees, furniture, or other common hazards.
This model runs on RTKn satellite positioning, so it doesn’t need any boundary wire. Once the area is mapped, it follows a defined route across the lawn with tight accuracy. The OAS uses sensors to identify objects and steer around them, reducing the chance of collisions or stoppages during mowing.
It’s powered by a quiet, brushless motor and includes dual cutting blades for clean results. The mower docks itself when charging is needed and works on a set schedule through the Kress app. For homes with cluttered gardens or unpredictable spaces, this model handles the job without constant supervision.

With wire-free navigation and onboard obstacle detection, the KR172E.A is built for more complex residential lawns. A few smart accessories can help simplify setup, protect your investment, and ensure long-term performance — especially in dynamic garden environments.
To unlock full RTKn accuracy, the mower may require access to a local correction signal. If you’re in a weak signal area, a compatible RTK base station can provide the accuracy needed to keep the mower aligned within a few centimetres.
A low-profile garage or shelter keeps the charging dock protected from harsh weather and falling debris. It also helps reduce moisture-related wear over time, especially in shaded or exposed gardens.
Since the OAS system relies on sensor visibility, we recommend keeping a soft cleaning kit on hand to wipe lenses and sensors. A spare set of blades also ensures uninterrupted mowing during peak growth months.
During the digital zone setup process, small flags or markers can help define the mowing area and no-go zones. These are especially useful in gardens with trees, raised beds, or tight pathways.
GroundTech can fully install your KR172E.A, including RTK signal setup, zone mapping, and on-site calibration of the Obstacle Avoidance System. Email us at [email protected] or use the form below to request our installation service.
Operating autonomously for up to 24 hours a day, allowing each task to be completed at a time that best suits you and your schedule and alleviating the pressure on manual labour.
The light footprint of the robot allows it to work on even the softest ground, retaining the playability and presentation of your facility no matter the challenges posed by mother nature.
Engineered to not only save on fuel and staff hours, GroundTech’s robotic solutions deliver a precise cut and quality finish worthy of first-class sport or picture-postcard experiences.
The hood and main body of the robot is insulated to deliver efficiency and effectiveness with minimal noise – ideal for working at night or in built up areas with no disruption.Â
The robot consumes up to 90% less energy than a standard mower. In addition, the clippings returned to the surface can also reduce the requirement for fertiliser and other chemical applications.Â
Mowing more frequently and consistently will being multiple benefits to the turf surface. A ‘little and often’ approach improves presentation, increases sward density & prevents weed ingress.
When you choose GroundTech, you not only receive access to the most innovative robotics on the market, you benefit from over 20 years of expertise in the grounds maintenance industry. That’s the GroundTech Difference.
